I wanna be a butterfly,
Flying in the sky
With you, today
I wanna lose this old cocoon
I wanna do it soon,
And fly away, away

  (Butterfly -- Seven Day Jesus)

All God’s children start like caterpillars.  Lowly, despicable creatures, crawling across the earth.  And when God comes and lives within us; we began to metamorphosize into something new.  We are no longer ourselves.  God gets underneath our skin and transforms us from within.  Once we crawled across the earth, in dirt and filth, striving to climb up a tree, but falling down again.  We could not do it on our own.  We wanted to get above it all—the dirt, finally we had God glue us to that tree in a cocoon.  And not too soon we will brake from that cocoon and expose the beauty with in.  Where we started is not where we will end.  God will carry us away, flying in the sky, above and beyond it all—free.  Our old self dies, no longer bound by the curse of the dirt, to crawl through it.  Now free to fly above, carried by God’s love.  Full of color and beauty, just wait you’ll see.

  1. God loves you, and wants to give you eternal life (John 3.16).
  2. You are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5.17)
  3. God makes things grow (Philippians 1.6, 1Corinthians 3.6,7)
  4. Our old selves must die, so the new may come--by Jesus--(John 12.24-25; 1 Corinthians 15.36,47)
  5. Jesus Christ sets us free (John 8.36).
  6. God will never start something and not finish it (Philippians 1.6).
  7.  You have been created, through Christ Jesus, for great accomplishments (Ephesians 2.9).
